Life is really simple but we insist on making it complicated
I have created the concept of small DIY eco house when investigated an alternative solution to creating small dwellings that could be easily build by an inexperienced owner builder and on much lower budget that the standard australian home. This was partly due to the high costs and limited options australian housing has currently to offer.
A few criteria were paramount during the planning & design phase: The simplicity of the build, the materials and the affordability. Another focus was on the functionality and how the house was to adapt different stages of the occupant’s life. The key difference between the one-off bespoke projects and the ecokit home is the continual development and improvements made to the design. It’s a house that can be produced on a large scale and will be continually refined with every single one.
Currently organizing building of the first prototype, to be open as a show home in the near future. This home will feature many additional features and new technologies to showcase that eco-friendly living and modern technology can coexist and our lives can benefit from both.
Ecokit homes are designed and manufactured in Victoria with some materials sourced locally in the area of construction.
I have been interested in eco buildings & healthy living for quite a while. After reaching 30 years of age, the desire to have my own place crept in and I started to research my options.
During few months of connecting with others trying to pursue similar dream I realized:
- there is a high demand for smaller dwellings for singles or couples
- buying a house is getting less and less affordable
- people want to live in a healthier environment, in a house build out of natural, chemical-free materials
- a lot of people would love to build their own house but struggle with local codes & other legalities
Market research showed an opportunity to introduce an affordable, versatile, easy to assemble and optionally also zero energy kit home, with minimal operating costs and positive environmental impact.
And so, ecokit was born.
I’m excited by, and proud of, what I have achieved (with a help of many other like-minded professionals) and I am passionate about providing affordable, accessible organic home that connects the concept of comfort and coziness with the functionality of a modern, ecological, elegant home to people who need it.
My mission and a vision:
Creation of any shape must make life better for the largest number of people possible.
