I am sure every single person in the world would have a completely original answer to this question. It all depends where you live, how old you are, what are the circumstances of your life.

Freedom is a concept that is difficult to define.

It means different things to different people,

and it takes on different meanings within different contexts.

Nowadays we are not aware of our freedom and thus we are losing it. We don’t live in a war stricken country, we don’t have to work every day on the fields to grow our own food but still we are having less and less time to spend on things that matter. And when I say things I mean more time spend with our families, children and partners, more time spend doing things we actually enjoy, bringing us enjoyment.

We are sinking into the sad life of 9 – 5 jobs we don’t like, spending hours every to get there and back. We don’t have time to pick up a book that can enrich our minds, preferring to stare at TV screens absorbing brainless shows. Or even worse, browsing our “friends” profiles to see their fake posts with awesome pics from their “exciting” life.

Why did we become so shallow? The society is consuming us and the clock is ticking. When will we wake up and realize we have wasted our lives? Why does it makes us feel better to live our day-to-day lives unaware? This kind of unconscious living does not make us free; it makes us a slave to the world around us, living a life on auto-pilot without thinking.

So why don’t we stop right now and change our life for better? Let’s wake up, stop living the zombie life and start enjoying the rest we have! Because being ourselves is what freedom is about!
